Ingredients.
Learn about our carefully selected ingredients and why we use them.
All ingredients are obsessively-researched and carefully chosen. Here's a look at all of the non-whole food ingredients you'll find in Nurished products.
Our products are free from all common artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose. We use only the following natural sweeteners: 1) Organic Sugar. 2) Stevia: a natural sweetener derived from the leaf of the stevia plant. It is 30-100 times sweeter than table sugar, but is calorie-free. 3) Erythritol: a sugar alcohol most generally derived from corn. This natural sweetener is calorie free and commonly found in pears, watermelon, and other fruits.
We're committed to never using artificial flavorings in any of our products. There is considerable debate over what qualifies as a "natural" flavor. As such, we only use natural flavors that are organic compliant according to FDA regulations, which means they are free from synthetic solvents, preservatives, and GMO's.
We do not use artificial colors or dyes of any kind, in any product. Emerging research around the dangers of artificial colors, especially with kids is compelling. For more information click here.
Vitamin and mineral yields listed on each supplement facts label are a combination of the naturally occurring vitamins and minerals found in the whole foods used, as well as additional vitamins and minerals added in supplement form. Because many vitamins like B & D are found more commonly in foods like dairy, fish, and meat, it is necessary to supplement these and others to gain a comprehensive multivitamin.
The main acid found in many fruits such as berries, grapes, peaches, and more. Generally used for flavoring in some of our products. See the FDA's statement regarding the safety of Malic Acid here.
An organic acid found in citrus fruits. Used for flavoring (mainly for a citrusy sourness) in some of our products. See the FDA's statement regarding the safety of Citric Acid here.
A natural, widely used additive derived from usually corn or soy (ours is from corn). Used almost universally in powdered supplements for consistency in powder and to prevent caking and/or separation. See the FDA's statement regarding Xanthan Gum here.
Added to stabilize consistency needed in straight-to-mouth powder.
Added to help in the digestion and absorption of the protein. See the FDA's statement regarding Protease Enzyme's here.

We do not use green tea in our products, but only the natural caffeine that is extracted from green tea. There is 100mg of green tea extract in our Superfood Energy products and subsequently 100mg of total caffeine yield.
An organic acid that occurs naturally in many fruits, such as grapes, bananas, and citrus. Used for flavoring and texture. See the FDA's statement regarding Tartaric Acid here.
Naturally occurring and safe for consumption, activated charcoal is generally used in nutraceuticals for its ability to remove toxins from the body. It works by trapping toxins and chemicals in the gut, preventing their absorption. The charcoal is not absorbed by the body, but passes through, carrying the toxins with it. For more information about how activated charcoal works click here.
